With a growing need for gas in South and East Asia \u2013 as well as the Middle East \u2013 and new supply from unconventional gas and other discoveries, what will the new global gas landscape look like?<br \/>\nA new paper from the Brookings Doha Center and Energy Security Initiative documents the proceedings of the 2013 Brookings Doha Energy Forum. This year\u2019s Forum convened senior government officials, energy company executives, and world-class energy analysts from the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and United States to foster debate and dialogue around the dramatic shifts underway in global natural gas markets.<br \/>\nBased on the Forum\u2019s plenary and roundtable sessions, this paper reflects a discussion of these shifts, particularly in light of the \u201cunconventional gas revolution.\u201d It also examines natural gas\u2019s role in the political economy of the Middle East, as well as prospects for new investment in regional gas infrastructure.
